Dec. 17, 2012. Carlton Gallery owner, Toni Carlton, extends a heartfelt invitation to everyone to view the 30th anniversary Winter Group Exhibition featuring “Small Works” in all media which fills the gallery with peaceful energy and beautiful holiday spirit.

“Small Works” in paintings, mixed media, photography, hand-woven mobius shawls and scarves, jewel toned vests and jackets, felted wool hats, along with wood items of bowls, bottle stoppers, pens, bookmarks and Russian lacquer boxes make exquisite and thoughtful gifts for the holidays. Unique shaker influenced boxes include carriers for remotes or letters, tissue boxes, urns, holders for wine, oil/vinegar, salt/pepper shakers and keepsakes. Sculptural pottery as well a lively collection of mugs, baking casseroles, microwave cookers, cheese plates, serving platters, berry bowls, tea pots and much more enhance the “Small Works” exhibition.

Hand-crafted drums by Michael and Joah Thiele are made of hardwoods such as African paduk, canary and walnut. “Each drum has its own distinct sound depending on the number of keys – 12, 9, 6 or 4 and one does not have to be a musician to play these hardwood drums, they are appropriate for all ages,” Carlton says.

Colorful, light catching blown glass vessels and vases by Robinson Scott make a cheerful display for the holidays. Likewise, the glass art of Fred Mead whose candelabra and candle holders, along with his blue “Crescent Lights” and white “Moon Cloud” sculptures brightens and uplifts winter’s light.  Blown glass vases and paper weights by Loretta Ford are excellent gift choices.

Beautiful jewelry adds to the holiday season and the gallery has a spirited collection in all price ranges. Cultured pearl bracelets, earrings and necklaces set in 14k gold by Julie Salvetti, along with designs in gemstones, fossils, wrapped wire and multi-hued beads by the gallery’s outstanding jewelry artisans are sure to please that special person this holiday.

Celebrate the beautiful Holiday Season at Carlton Gallery where the ambience is peaceful and the art is inspiring during the 30th Anniversary Winter Group Exhibition featuring “Small Works” in all media which runs through April 30. The “2012 Figurative Abstractions” exhibit by Warren Dennis can also be viewed and enjoyed through December 31.
