Sept. 19, 2012. The Town of Boone concludes the summer Concerts at the Jones House series with performances by Tom Shirley and Echo Park.

“The guys in Echo Park have been staples of the rock scene in the High Country for more than three decades,” said concerts organizer, Mark Freed. “Rusty Blanton helped start the band in 1979, and he is till rocking out.”

Long-time member and lead singer, Bob Rochelle, and Blanton’s son, Jamie, who has played drums in the band since 2007 will be on board for Friday’s performance. Another long-time member, Bill “Fish” Fisher left the area in 2009 and will not be joining the band Friday.

Songwriter, Tom Shirley, will start the evening at 5 p.m., performing with local guitar player, teacher, and instrument repair specialist, Aubrey Spurlock. Echo Park will follow, wrapping up the 2012 concerts series.

“We have already begun discussions about the 2013 series,” said Freed. “I’m already looking forward to another great summer of music and welcome artists and community members that would like to get involved to stop by the Jones House, call, or email for more information.”
