By JESSICA ISAACS

Calling all High Country residents! Join the community’s sustainability effort and help collect recyclables and litter during the Town of Boone’s annual Spring Clean-Up Day tomorrow.imgres408

Stop by the Public Works Center between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at 321 E. King St. in downtown Boone to pick up everything you need to help clean up the town.

Gloves and vests will be provided, as well as green bags for recyclables and orange bags for trash.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome and encouraged to participate. Show up at the Public Works Center and ask where your help is needed, or start cleaning up at your favorite spot in town.

Families with children are asked to clean up in the parks to ensure their safety.

Clean-Up Day, a longstanding tradition for the Town of Boone, will coincide with the two-week litter sweep, giving local residents an extra chance to have old furniture, yard debris or other large items hauled off by town employees.

Check back with High Country Press next week for more information on the litter sweep and upcoming Earth Day programs, and hear from Town of Boone employees about why it’s important to keep our community clean.

And don’t forget, you can make a difference! Every little bit counts!
