If you’re an early riser and you’re looking to stay connected to the local business community, Piedmont Federal Savings Bank wants to see you tomorrow morning!

In conjunction with the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce, the bank, 1399 Blowing Rock Road in Boone, will host its inaugural “Business Before Hours” networking breakfast event from 7:45-8:45 a.m. tomorrow, Oct. 1.

This fun, new twist on the chamber’s traditional “after hours” events will offer complimentary breakfast, coffee, juice, door prizes and a great networking opportunity for folks who are invested in the local economy.

“We thought this would be a chance for us to start something new,” said PFSB Branch Manager Diana Proffit. “Also, we wanted to do something for folks who are more available earlier in the day. We thought this would appeal to the people who normally go to the after hours events and some that may find it difficult to get there in the evenings.”

Proffit said she looks forward to seeing new faces in the bank, which has been in Boone since the 1970s.

This new event is one of many programs that the bank sponsors alongside the Boone chamber.

“We want to be involved in the community, and I think that’s more important now than ever,” Proffit said. “We’re kind of a small community with a lot of people in it, so it’s just beneficial for us to get our name out there, but also to invite small businesses in the area to network and get to know each other better.”

Boone Chamber Director of Operations Barbara Armstrong said the before hours events have been successful in other cities and for other chambers, so PFSB was eager to get it started in the High Country.

“For a lot of people, schedule wise, it works out better for them to come and network at the beginning of their day. They may have children at home that they need to get to at the end of the day,” Armstrong said. “Piedmont Federal is supplying a great breakfast and juice, and this one-hour networking opportunity will be a great way to start the day.

“You’ll get to meet people who wouldn’t normally be able to make it to the after hours events. We’re expecting a whole new business group that we don’t normally get to see in the evenings.”

Get ready to start your day by mixing and mingling with new friends in the community. Don’t forget to bring your business cards!
