Sunset Stroll on Sunset Drive is sponsored by the businesses on Sunset Drive in Blowing Rock. The stores will remain open late for this event, so look for the balloons marking participating businesses.

The Inn at Ragged Gardens holds live music on the lawn during the stroll starting at 5:30 p.m. with the High Country’s own funky soul and classic rock band, Soul Benefactor, weather permitting.

Christopher’s Wine and Cheese hosts a wine and cheese reception for the artists that show in the shop and the public. Currently featured artists are painters Lisa Peppers, Marie Hossbile, Stephanie Welden and Edy Gilwrath, accompanied by photographer, Tom Dills. For more information, call 828-414-9111.

The art galleries on Sunset Drive celebrate the stroll with special receptions and viewings. Art & Artifacts and the Blowing Rock Gallery of Homes & Land feature the representational works of Addren Doss, a painter from Greensboro, with a “Meet the Artist” reception and wine and cheese tasting. Kid-friendly refreshments will also be provided, and the showcase takes place at 159 Sunset Drive from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Restaurants offer al fresco dining on porches and patios so that you can take full advantage of this summer tradition. Of the restaurants participating, some are the Best Cellar, Mellow Mushroom and Blowing Rock Ale House & Inn.

Other participating businesses include Jake’s at the Rock, Feather Your Nest Gallery, Glen Scott Gallery and Morning Star Gallery.
