Get ready to tee off on June 6 with Hearts of Hospitality House and Mountaineer Cleaners as they host the inaugural High Country Charity Golf Tournament. Taking place at Boone Golf Club, the four-person scramble golftournamentformat tournament has a shotgun start of 8 a.m. that Saturday morning. Men’s, women’s and mixed foursomes are welcome to the event that features multiple hole contests, a 50/50 cash raffle, team prizes and a hole-in-one new car giveaway sponsored by Alfred Glover’s Boone Ford. Lunch and on-course snacks are being provided by Allen Wealth Management and golfer gift bags come courtesy of LifeStore Bank.

Benefitting the men, women and children of Hospitality House, Mountaineer Cleaners Charity Golf Tournament provides a premier outdoor experience for local and visiting golfers. Additional sponsors include Molecular Toxicologists, ECRS Software, David Patrick Moses Architect, Cornucopia Gifts, Wayne & Jenny Miller, Craig and Rose Bridgeman and 25 local business hole sponsorships.

“We are excited to add a premier golf tournament to our stable of successful fundraising events,” states Hearts of Hospitality House Vice President Jill Hoekstra. “As ambassadors of Hospitality House, we are privileged to not only raise funds for our neighbors in need, but to promote awareness of the positive impact that Hospitality House has on our community.”

Registration is $125 per person or $500 for a team of four.

Participants can register online at HospHouse.org or in person at Hospitality House (338 Brook Hollow Road) and Welcome Home Thriftique (182 Boone Heights Drive) in Boone. The event is expected to sell out, so timely registration is encouraged.

For anyone not into golf but wanting to participate, the 50/50 cash raffle tickets ($10 each or 3 for $20) are available online and at Hospitality House for purchase. Raffle tickets will also be sold at Boone Golf Club the day of the event. You do not have to be present to win and the approximated cash raffle winnings will be between $1000 – $2000 dollars.

Hospitality House serves those living in crisis, homelessness, and poverty in the seven-county region commonly referred to as the High County. With the poverty rate increasing to 31 percent, making Watauga County the third highest in the state, their services are needed more than ever.

Organizers are still accepting $100 hole sponsorships. For sponsorship opportunities or additional information please contact Todd Carter at todd@hosphouse.org
