Imagine yourself as a frontiersman raising a family somewhere deep in the mountains of the High Country during the fight for independence. Starting this Friday, take a visit to the past when you watch Horn in the West.

This 67-year-old production follows the harrowing story of the settlers who came to the Blue Ridge Mountains “seeking freedom and escape from British tyranny.” Specifically, this production follows none other than Dr. Geoffrey Stuart, a British physician, his wife, Martha, and their son, Jack. Watch as Horn in the West brings to life the story of Daniel Boone

Experience the hardships they faced and romance as if you were there.

Experience the hardships they faced and romance as if you were there. Learn how Dr. Stuart “finds himself a respected leader in this hidden mountain community…” and “…resolves his conflicted feelings of loyalty to the Crown…”

To celebrate Horn in the West’s 67th anniversary, Watauga County locals can enjoy $10 General Admission Tickets on the first night of the production, June 22. Guests are encouraged to preorder tickets online to ensure you get the seats you want.

You’ll also want to be there early to be the first to “see the rebirth of the exhilarating fire dance and the return of beloved actors Jenny Cole and Darrell King.”

Preshow activities begin at 5:30 p.m. While waiting for the show to begin, you can visit the Hickory Ridge Museum, which opens at 5:30 p.m. Visit with Jeremiah Farmer, who will be broadcasting remotely from the theatre, before the production starts.
