Feb. 24, 2014. Well, that was a nice weekend.
With warmer temps and sunshine, the weather was perfect for doing something outside – whether it was walking or riding bikes along the greenway, fishing at Elk Falls or chopping firewood for the return of chillier weather that is forecasted to bottom out in the teens on Wednesday.
Ray’s Weather noted that the past couple days were the nicest weekend since early November and that the cold weather is happening in two steps.
“Step 1 was last night with the passage of a dry front from the northwest. Today will be noticeably cooler. Tuesday will be a couple degrees milder with more clouds ahead of Step 2–a front moving through late Tuesday night with Arctic air,” RaysWeather.com noted in its forecast discussion.
It also noted the possibility of “light snow, snow showers and flurries” on Tuesday night and into early Wednesday and that same theme repeating on Friday night and into Saturday.
