THIS SATURDAY: Foscoe Ruritan’s Second Annual Homegrown Music Festival Set for Saturday, Aug. 27

The Foscoe Ruritan Club’s primary annual fundraiser, the second annual homegrown Music Festival, will take place on August 27, 2016 at the Foscoe- Grandfather Community Park. The “Homegrown Music Festival” again, will be a one day event set to showcase some of the areas talented musicians and musical groups. The purpose of the event will be to generate funds for the coming year’s Ruritan projects. In past years the club has held a “Fun Day” with live auctions, silent auctions, and a raffle to fund projects. Last year’s inaugural festival was a tremendous success, allowing us to provide assistance to many groups and individuals. This year, we hope for an even larger turnout for great local music and fellowship. As always, 100 percent of our funds go back into the community.

Foscoe Ruritan Club was formed by an enthusiastic group of civic minded residents who felt the need to help their community. The past fund raising efforts have provided scholarships, help with medical costs, and holiday ham and turkey “dinner boxes” for families in need. The club has also supplied oil and wood for the cold mountain winters for those in need of some assistance. The club has also donated funds to local schools and organizations to help cover some expenses.

The lineup for this event will include some gifted local talents. Performing will be: Poor Valley, Bethel Road, Adam Church, The High Country Boomers, Maybe…Maybe Not, CreekSide Bluegrass Band, Amantha Mill, and longtime local favorites, Blue Country. This lineup will offer something for everyone’s musical pleasure, from gospel and contemporary Christian, to country and bluegrass.
