Update: Holiday Markets Are Almost Here; Choose Local to Get the Best Gift for Every Last One on Your List

Nov. 14, 2013. The holidays are quickly approaching, have you gotten started on your seasonal shopping yet? Not to worry, there are many local Holiday Markets in the area this year that will have exactly what you need to satisfy everyone on your list. 

imgres-1The Watauga County Farmers’ Market will be open every Saturday in November (Nov. 9, 16, 23, 30) from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The vendors will be carrying special holiday products such as wreaths, holiday foods and gifts. Customers can expect seasonal produce, meats, eggs, breads, jams and jellies, wreaths and unique crafts. 

The Ashe County Holiday Farmers’ Market will be held weekly on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 17-Dec. 1 in downtown West Jefferson. Admission is free. For more information about this event click here

Beech Mountain’s Holiday Market will be held Nov. 30 at Buckeye Recreation Center from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Spend the day with the family or get some of your holiday shopping checked off with the unique local arts and crafts that will be offered by local artisans.

The Chapman Center in Avery County will be holding a Holiday Market on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The market will host 30 vendors who will be offering everything from homemade crafts to Mary Kay cosmetics. This is your chance to keep it local and get all the things you need for everyone on your list. 

The Parkway Craft Show, which is scheduled for Nov. 23 at Parkway School in Boone, offers unique items from more than 25 vendors. Find the perfect gift for everyone on your list with items including baked goods, hot chocolate, jewelry, pottery, scarves, jams and jellies, wooden birdhouses, Christmas ornaments, books, stationary, quilted items, raffles and more. The craft show will take place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Boone Service League will hold the annual Holiday Market on Saturday, Dec. 8 from 7:30-11 a.m. at Watauga High School. Vendors are being accepted through Nov. 15, interested parties should contact Stephanie Allen at sallen628@hotmail.com. The Boone Service League is a nonprofit organization that raises funds for emergency needs, projects, scholarships and charities in the High Country. All funds raised by the Boone Service League remain in the High Country.
