High Gravity Adventures: Ribbon Cutting for New Three-Person Giant Swing on Thursday

By Emily Willis

High Gravity Adventures will finally get to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new three-person swing this Thursday, Sept. 8 at 4:30 p.m. The original date set earlier in the summer was delayed due to weather conditions. This is your second chance to be there, so don’t miss out!

Lost Province Brewery will be serving drinks immediately after the ribbon cutting, with complimentary swings and tickets to the new Ninja Warrior ground course.

This three-person swing can reach up to 45 feet in the air! The swing has a self-releasing rip-cord for thrill seekers to choose how high they would like to swing. Once the rip-cord is pulled, the swing takes off. Each person is hooked to a harness and wearing a helmet during the swing.

“The addition of the swing,” says Ruthie Nathan, the assistant director of marketing and sales, “adds a new level to the total course, but differing from the aerial portion.” The inspiration came from their sister company, Challenge Towers, who has been building challenging aerial ropes courses since 1992.

Here’s how High Gravity Adventures describes the new offering:

Ready for this? For a moment, you are weightless and then you accelerate through double gravity as you soar through the air and towards our Blue Ridge Course! Scream or wave hello to your friends before plunging backwards in the air again. This experience includes one ticket, good for two swings on our Giant Swing.

Each participant must have their own ticket and up to three people can ride on the Giant Swing at one time. Participants must be at least 48 inches tall and weigh 265 lbs or less. Juniors ages 7-10 must swing with an adult, and Young Adults ages 11-13 must have an adult present on-site.
