High Country United Way Accepting Applications for Community Funding

The High Country United Way is now accepting applications for programs for the fiscal year 2015-2016.

We seek proposals that meet the goals identified by our Community Impact Visioning Councils as well as those that continue to meet basic and emergency needs.

These goals can be found in the application packet on our website at www.highcountryunitedway.org , or by contacting the HCUW office at 828-265-2111.

image-logo-united-wayNon-profit 501c3 organizations providing health and human service programming and operating in Watauga and/or Avery counties are eligible to apply for funding from High Country United Way. Deadline for submitting applications is April 10, 2015.

Eligible, interested agencies are invited to a meeting on March 11, 8:30 a.m. at the Wells Fargo Bank building in Boone, in their second floor conference room. The purposes of this meeting are to explain HCUW’s goals for the 2015-16 programs, distribute information and applications, explain the process, and answer questions.

High Country United Way has been working towards identifying important impact issues and creating a process to improve community conditions. The Community Impact Approach has been adopted across the country as United Ways engage members of the community in identifying the underlying causes of serious problems within their communities. The major areas are Education, Income and Health.
