On Saturday, May 13, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., a pharmaceutical drug take-back project called High Country Operation Medicine Cabinet will be taking place in Boone, Blowing Rock, Deep Gap and Foscoe. The event is focused on saving the community’s kids and rivers from loose drugs.

You can help by turning in your unused or expired prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and medical supplies with no questions asked! The locations that you can turn in these drugs are: the Food Lion in Boone, the Food Lion in Deep Gap, the Food Lion in Blowing Rock and the Foscoe Fire Department.

With your help, the High Country can be made clean of any kind of pharmaceuticals or controlled substances that could harm community members or the environment!’
