THIS SUNDAY: ‘High Country Local First’ to Host Inaugural Boone Block Party Downtown

Get ready to have some fun at the first Boone Block Party this Sunday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m.! Held in downtown Boone, this street festival will feature local businesses, non-profit organizations and so much more.

‘High Country Local First’ is a nonprofit organization that focuses on strengthening the community and local economy. The block party will give local community members and visitors a chance to celebrate local businesses, music, art and more.

There will be booths from local businesses and nonprofits, a beer garden featuring fresh brews from Lost Province Brewing Company and Booneshine Brewing Company and live music throughout the day.

“We are excited to be a part of the FIRST High Country Local First Block Party,” said Tracy Franks of Tin Can Event Co. ” It will be a lot of fun in right here in downtown Boone. We are looking forward to seeing old friends and making some new ones.”

The Block Party is presented by Carolina West Wireless, Mountain Bizworks, & Proper. Sponsors for the event include:

There will be around 30 local vendors participating in the Block Party. The live music schedule is:

  • 1 p.m. Nate Harris of the Spice Creek Ramblers
  • 2 p.m. Clint Roberts
  • 3 p.m. Kate Rhudy
  • 4 p.m. Dan Joy & his personal Submersible

The block party will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Howard Street (between Footsloggers and the bottom of Town Hall parking lot).
