High Country Local First Boone Block Party Returns to the High Country on Sun., Apr. 30

Boone, NC – A celebration of local art, business, music, and the nonprofit community–the Local First Boone Block Party will take place Sunday April 30, 1-5 pm on Howard Street in downtown Boone. The festival is presented by Carolina West Wireless and Mast General Store.

The Local First Boone Block Party is committed to showcasing the High Country community and promoting local businesses, it will feature local artisans, farmers, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and musicians. The Boone Block party is an intimate, family-friendly event in a beautiful downtown setting. In addition to over 30 vendors, the event features a beer garden with beverages from Lost Province Brewing and Booneshine Brewing, food from Black Cat Burrito, and a Children’s Corner hosted by Western Youth Network.

Cryptograph Records and Village Vision festival are teaming up to present the music featuring local artists: Clint Roberts, Alexa Rose, Mexican Hot Chocolate, and Kong Must Dead.

“We are looking forward to the Spring 2017 Boone Block Party since we had such a successful event last September, this event is a time for community members and visitors alike to come together as one and enjoy an exciting day downtown with local vendors, live music and so much more!” said HCLF Executive Director Victoria Potter.

Last year’s inaugural event saw hundreds of visitors throughout the day, 32 vendors, and beautiful weather. Some vendors made between $150-450 at the event while non-profit and student groups used the opportunity for community outreach. The Local First Boone Block Party is presented by Mast General Store and Carolina West Wireless and benefits High Country Local First, a 501c3 nonprofit. The festival is made possible by other business sponsors such as Mountain Bizworks, Proper, Skyline/Skybest, Black Cat Burrito.
