High Country Host invites the public to an open house at the new Official Regional Welcome Center.  The Welcome Center, previously located on Blowing Rock Road (beside KFC), has moved five miles to 6370 US Highway 321 South in a shared building with Appalachian Ski Mountain. The open house will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday Oct. 27 and Friday Oct. 28.  A ribbon cutting will be held on Thursday Oct. 27 at 3 p.m..

The open house will give locals a chance to see the new building, enjoy light refreshments and mingle with Welcome Center staff.   “I have been approached by tourists with questions many times when I am hiking or just walking down the street, so I believe it is important for locals to know where to send people with questions about the High Country,” says Candice Cook, marketing director.  “We hope the public and local business owners will come out and see what we have to offer.”

High Country Host is a non-profit tourism marketing organization that has been dedicated to promoting tourism to the High Country since 1980.  The Official Regional Welcome Center serves the five-county High Country Region.   For more information on High Country Host or the Open House, call 828-264-1299 or click to mountainsofnc.com
