Dec. 3, 2014. The holidays are almost upon us, and one theatre in the High Country area is ensuring that the holiday season does not pass by without a great lineup of live holiday entertainment. Heritage Hall Theatre in Mountain City, Tenn. will present the final two holiday plays of the year before 2014 comes to a close. The final two shows for the year will be “A Christmas Carol” and “A Taste of the Nutcracker.”
Heritage Hall will present the Johnson County High School Players’ rendition of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” just in time for the holidays. The show will take the stage Dec. 5-7. Tickets for the show are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
In what is deemed “the crown jewel of the Christmas season,” the production will be performed by students of the Johnson County High School Players, and the show times for the production are 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6 and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7.
“A Christmas Carol” is the second-to-last production of 2014 for Heritage Hall Theatre. The next show will be the final production for the year, and Heritage Hall will resume its lineups in 2015.
Another holiday classic, “A Taste of the Nutcracker,” will be presented on Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door and $5 for students for this classic holiday fantasy story presented by the East Tennessee Youth Ballet.
Started in 2005, Heritage Hall Theatre has been providing the community with quality entertainment for all ages. The theater itself can hold 388 spectators and is dedicated to presenting a variety of performances as well as hosting numerous community events throughout the year.
