The Harriet and Charles Davant, Jr. Medical Clinic is scheduled to open on October 3, 2016 on the campus of The Foley Center at Chestnut Ridge, Appalachian Regional Healthcare System’s (ARHS) new post-acute care facility in Blowing Rock, NC. Located at 623 Chestnut Ridge Parkway alongside US 321, the clinic will provide convenient internal medicine services to the community of Blowing Rock.
The 4,375-square-foot medical clinic was named in honor of the late Dr. Charles Davant, Jr. and his wife, Harriet. In 1948, as Blowing Rock’s pioneer full-time physician, Dr. Davant became the founding father and advocate for healthcare in the community. Thanks to his backing, Blowing Rock Hospital garnered community support and opened a few years later in 1951. Before his passing in 2003, Dr. Davant proudly served patients in his clinic and at the hospital for more than 50 years. Today, Harriet remains an avid supporter of the advancement of healthcare in Blowing Rock.
As a member of Appalachian Regional Medical Associates, The Davant Clinic will provide comprehensive care for patients 18-years and older. The clinic will be staffed by long-time trusted High Country internal medicine physicians Peter Haibach, MD and John Palmer, MD.
“Appalachian Regional Healthcare System is proud to honor the Davant family by expanding the continuum of care available in the town of Blowing Rock,” said Rob Hudspeth, Sr. Vice President of System Advancement.
“Appalachian Regional Medical Associates is proud to transition Dr. Peter Haibach and Dr. John Palmer to the brand new Davant Medical Clinic,” said Robert Johnston, Director of ARMA and Clinical Integration. “This transition allows us to continue providing excellent care to current patients and is located where our Blowing Rock community will no longer need to travel to Boone for routine care.”
