Haircut 101 Sponsors ‘Cuts for a Cure’ Cut-a-Thon Hosted by Appalachian Mountain Brewery May 31

May 22, 2014. Haircut 101 is sponsoring a Cut-a-Thon hosted by Appalachian Mountain Brewery on May 31 at 3 p.m. to benefit local community member Lindsey Bennett who is battling cancer.

A minimum $20 donation purchases a haircut by a talented stylist and a raffle drawing for a variety of prizes donated by local businesses. Delicious food served by Appalachian Mountain Brewery’s new food truck and a local DJ will be provided.

Untitled-3Lindsey Bennett is a client of Haircut 101, a wife, and a new mother to her four-month-old son. She was born and raised in Lenoir and moved to Boone when she attended college at Appalachian State University. She has managed the Shoppes on the Parkway in Blowing Rock for almost ten years.

Just recently, Bennett has been diagnosed with stage 3 Adenocarcinoma, or Esophageal cancer, which requires chemotherapy and radiation five days a week for the next month. She will undergo surgery shortly after. Her husband is home with her and their beautiful baby taking care of them as Lindsey fights for her life.

“Lindsey is a dear friend of mine, and I have known her for a long time,” said Jezabel Macapagal, a friend of Bennett and a stylist at Haircut 101.

“Something like this can happen to any of us, and I feel very thankful that so many people are willing to help her out.”

We are asking for the community’s support in helping Lindsey and her family. Donations for raffle prizes or services from local businesses will be greatly appreciated as we organize this event.
