G&T Communications Helps Electric Utility to the Top of the J.D. Power Leaderboard

Boone & Asheville, NC, (Aug 15, 2017)—When local public relations and advertising firm G&T Communications, Inc. began working with NOVEC, a large electric cooperative outside of Washington, D.C., both organizations called it a “powerful partnership.”

That was validated when NOVEC was again named a leader in J.D. Power’s 2017 customer satisfaction survey results, announced last month. Among all the nation’s electric utilities surveyed, the utility took the number one spot in communications, one of six factors measured. NOVEC ranked only one point behind the top scorer in overall customer satisfaction among the cooperatives segment.

“Assisting NOVEC in its 100-point climb to the top of the J.D. Power communication rankings and its 85-point increase in overall customer satisfaction over a four-year period demonstrates our commitment to strengthening our electric cooperative clients,” said G&T President Maggie Tilley.

G&T partnered with NOVEC in 2013 and has been the cooperative’s agency of record since, providing strategic planning, creative development and implementation of successful advertising campaigns.

“G&T’s team understands our business model and today’s communications challenges,” says Mike Curtis, NOVEC’s vice president of public relations. “They’re easy to work with and consistently provide the professional results we expect from an agency.”

“The respect is mutual,” shares Tilley. “All of us at G&T consider it a privilege to work with NOVEC. They also have a wonderful team, and we share a working relationship that is creative and effective.”

G&T Communications team members (L-R) Dean Philyaw, business manager; Melinda Self, art director; Katie Grubb, vice president of client services; Rhonda Smith, account coordinator; Casey Willis, digital services specialist; and Maggie Tilley, president, celebrate the efforts as NOVEC’s agency of record to help the utility achieve the highest communications sector score among any electric utility in the nation in J.D. Power’s most recent 2016-2017 customer satisfaction survey.
