Fink and Marxer will start the concert at 5:00 p.m.  The self-titled Social Music Conductors is an accurate title for the duo that has been performing, recording, promoting, teaching, sharing, and championing folk music, songwriters, social justice, and more through their musical hands and voices.   The two are fans and many musical styles, and their performances will include a blend of old and traditional with new and contemporary, with focuses on old-time country, swing, and other American roots styles.  The two have been on their musical journey together since they first met more than 30 years ago.

Kelley and the Cowboys are a four-piece band from northwest North Carolina, led by female vocalist, Kelley Breiding.  With a focus on early forms of western swing, rockabilly, country, and blues, the band puts their signature sound on old standards as well as original songs that will all have people dancing in their seats or up on their feet.  The group have been returning favorites at the Boone Saloon, where they will perform later in the night.

The performances are part of the Summer Concerts at the Jones House series, featuring weekly concerts in downtown Boone every Friday, from June through September.  The series is produced by the Town of Boone’s Cultural Resources Department, with support from season sponsors, including Downtown Boone Development Association, Footsloggers, Mast General Store, Farmers Rental and Power, MPrints, StickBoy Bread Company, and Melanie’s.  Friday’s concert is also sponsored by Rennie and Lana Brantz and John and Bettie Bond.
