Governor McCrory Officially Announces Appointment of Rebecca Eggers-Gryder as 24th District Court Judge

Jan. 23, 2015. Governor Pat McCrory announced today that Rebecca Eggers-Gryder has been appointed DSC_0928AABDistrict Court Judge in the 24th Judicial District. Eggers-Gryder will fill the vacancy created by the governor’s appointment of former Chief District Court Judge Gregory Horne to the Superior Court bench in December 2014.

“Eggers-Gryder will be an excellent addition to the court,” Governor McCrory said. “Her experience as a trial lawyer in a vast array of areas of litigation, as well as her time spent as president of the Watauga County Bar Association and the 24th Judicial District Bar Association, is sure to serve the district well. We look forward to her public service.”

The district covers Watauga, Avery, Mitchell, Yancey and Madison counties.

Eggers-Gryder has been a trial lawyer in Watauga County for nearly 30 years, practicing in the areas of family law, juvenile law, custody, alimony, post-separation support, divorces and equitable distribution and criminal law. She has worked with the family law firm of Eggers, Eggers, Eggers and Eggers, PLLC, since being admitted to the North Carolina Bar. She has served as county attorney for Watauga County and as attorney for the Town of Seven Devils.
