Games, Trick-or-Treating and More at Blowing Rock’s Halloween Festival This Saturday, Oct. 27

By Hailey Blevins

Halloween is less than a week away, and Blowing Rock is preparing for their Halloween Festival this Saturday, October 27.

From 3 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, free activities, including games, hayrides, a Monster March and more, will be happening in Blowing Rock. Everyone’s encouraged to join the Monster March in their costumes. Marchers should line up at American Legion by 5:30 p.m. All the kids will get to take over Main Street for this costume parade.

At 7 p.m., you’re invited to participate in a Costume Contest. Contestants should sign up for the Costume Contest by 6:45 at the Rec Center. Prizes will be awarded for the Costume Contest.

Of course, be sure to get in some trick-or-treating before the contest begins! Trick-or-Treating will take place in Downtown Blowing Rock, and Trunk-or-Treating will take place at Blowing Rock First Baptist.

New this year are two screenings of a Halloween movie. One screening will be at 2 p.m., before the activities begin, and the second will follow the activities at 9 p.m. The movie screened will be Hocus Pocus!

Those participating in the Scavenger Hunt are recommended to bring a flashlight.

All events are free! Join the festivities in Blowing Rock for some family-friendly fun all afternoon.
