Sept. 18, 2014. Friends, family and “everyone who was touched by the life of Anna Smith” are invited to the Archdale United Methodist Church on Friday, Sept. 19, to celebrate her life and mourn her death.
Smith, a freshman at Appalachian State University, went missing two weeks ago and her body was found in a wooded area near Poplar Grove Road in Boone on Saturday.
A reception to celebrate Smith’s life is planned at the fellowship hall of the church from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. A balloon release is also scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Instead of flowers, memorials may be made in her name at www.gofundme.com, which will help the family fund expenses exhausted during the search.
Online condolences may be made at www.cumbyfuneral.com. Arrangements by Cumby Family Funeral Service Archdale.
Also, a memorial book has been placed at Plemmons Student Union on the campus of Appalachian State for Smith’s family.
