Jan. 24, 2013. The continued investigation into a Jan. 10 sexual assault at an area elderly residential care facility has resulted in an additional charge for the suspect.
Charles Michael Horton, age 60 of Lenoir, was charged on that date with the misdemeanor charge of sexual battery after he visited a relative at Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation and allegedly sexually assaulted her. Boone Police have continued their investigation and yesterday charged Horton with one felony count of Second Degree Sexual Assault.
Horton remains in the custody of the Watauga County Sheriff, now with an additional $250,000 secured bond resulting from this charge.
