Are you an art lover? A collector? Do you just like admiring things that other people can create?
Well, you’re in luck because the First Friday Art Crawl is heading this way for the summer!
Throughout the year, downtown Boone hosts an Art Crawl on the first Friday of every month. This month’s Art Crawl will be taking place this Friday, June 2, at 6 p.m. Thanks to the Art Crawl, residents and visitors to the area can stroll through downtown to witness and admire local art. There will be art openings and receptions, artist demonstrations, live entertainment, complimentary refreshments and more all down King Street.
During the Art Crawl, participants can catch a free concert by Time Sawyer and Sirius B on the Jones House Lawn, check out the Two Rivers Student Art Show at the Watauga County Library, stand in awe as Clare Lenahan throws clay at Doe Ridge Pottery and be amazed at Mieszko Kwiatkowski’s art opening at Art Mart & Academy.
Cheryl Roberts will be the featured artist at Hands Gallery for the month of June, while Lililu will be hosting local artist Chloe Purpero. Along with this, Lazybirds will be playing live music at Lost Province Brewing Co. from 7:30-10:30 p.m
Oh, and don’t forget, the Turchin Center will be open and will be featuring two new exhibitions that you don’t want to miss! While all of this is going on, Neighborhood Yoga will be hosting a yoga dance party from 5:30-7:00 p.m., followed by live music in the care.
All of this, and more, is at your fingertips during the First Friday Art Crawl this Friday!
While most of the galleries and art shows will be opening at 6 p.m. and closing around 8:30 p.m., you can find a full list of events, descriptions and times on the Downtown Boone website.
