First Concert in the Park in Banner Elk of 2014 a Great Success; Major Sevens Play Next Concert Held June 26

June 20, 2014. The first concert in the park in Banner Elk was a great success. Annie Robinette and her band played a great concert and all those who attended the show had a wonderful time dancing to the rocking numbers and were treated to some slower songs which showcased Annie’s powerful singing voice.

The Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce’s Summer Concert Series will continue on Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m. through Aug. 28. With no rain dates, the concert committee hopes for clear skies.

The second concert of the summer series “Concerts in the Park” will be The Major Sevens. The concert will be held on Thursday, June 26 at 6:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.

The band is made up of guitarist Brooks Forsyth, fiddler Drayton Aldridge and Robert Hunt, contributing the mandolin and backup guitar. These Boone natives have a unique sound bringing the influences of bluegrass, blues, jazz and classic rock together.

The concert series is put on by the Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Banner Elk. Each week, one business sponsors each performance. This week’s sponsor is Morningstar Mini-Storage.

Located on Silver Springs Drive in Banner Elk, Morningstar Mini-Storage has been offering high quality storage for more than 30 years. They have heated and cooled units with 24-hour secured access and well-lit grounds.
