Fireworks, Music and Food Highlight 47th Annual Roasting of the Hog Held July 5 in Beech Mountain

June 26, 2014. Celebrate Independence Day weekend in Eastern America’s highest town.

RoastingOfTheHog_9283aBeech Mountain’s 47th annual Roasting of the Hog festival takes place Saturday, July 5 in the Alpine Village at the base of the mountain bike park at Beech Mountain Resort. Activities start at 5:30 p.m. and last well into the evening.

This fun-filled event includes live music from the High Country Boomers; slow roasted, pit-cooked barbecue pork and smoked turkey breast; all the trimmings; face painting; silent auction and a bake sale. In addition, Beech Mountain’s Parks & Recreation Department provides a kid’s play area, complete with bounce house and plenty of activities.

Fireworks will begin shortly after dark and the resort’s new Beech Mountain Brewing Company will be open as well.

Advance tickets are $15 for ages eight and up and $7.50 for ages seven and under.These prices rise to $20 and $10 at the gate. Tickets are available online at www.BeechMountainChamber.com.
