A fire totaled a house on Ashley Woods Drive, located off of Old Hampton Road, at about midnight on Wednesday night/Thursday morning.
Jordan Nelson of Nelson Aerial Productions captured this shot with his quadcopter at 12:27, which is about 40 minutes after Watauga County 911 Communications were alerted of the fire from a motorist traveling on the Blue Ridge Parkway, according to GoBlueRidge.net.
Reached via email on Thursday morning at the scene, Watauga County Fire Marshal Steve Sudderth said that the house was a total loss and that the fire is currently under investigation. He said he didn’t have any other details to release at this time.
