On July 14-16 the Fine Art and Master Crafts Festival will return to the Historic Banner Elk Elementary School in downtown Banner Elk.
For over 20 years the Avery County Chamber of Commerce has held this event for mountain artists and master crafters to showcase their unique mediums of artwork to the High Country.
“We have an average of 60 or more vendors each year and everything is handmade,” said Melynda Pepple, the Executive Director of the Avery County Chamber of Commerce.
Vendors are required to submit an application and are encouraged to apply early if they are interested in participating at this event. This is a juried festival, meaning the committee chooses which artists come to the festival to show off their work.
“Authors will be bringing books that they have written, woodworkers have beautiful handmade furniture, boxes, swings, hangings and other crafts. There are a variety of potters, painters, jewelry makers, leather and wearable art, unique glass, metal and tin work, and of course soaps, candles and baked goods,” said Pepple.
The vendors will be ready to showcase from 1-5 on Friday, 10-5 on Saturday and 10-4 on Sunday.
There will be food and drinks available for purchase by food vendors.
This event is free to the public and all ages are welcome.
