Evelyn Johnson Meeting Room Dedication Held at Watauga County Public Library Over the Weekend

May 15, 2014. The library dedicated the meeting room in Evelyn Johnson’s memory with a dedication on May 10 at 2 pm. Evelyn Johnson, long-time librarian, passed away suddenly on Jan. 14 of 2013.

Evelyn arranged a great many programs that benefited the community in the room, which is now named for her.

Speakers included Beth Mueller, former Appalachian Regional Director, Susan Jones, Kiwanis of Boone President, Terry Hamilton, Endowment Chair, Virginia Foxx, House Representative, Pat McGuire of the Watauga Baptist Church, and Seth and Caleb Johnson, sons of Evelyn.  Cake and punch were served following the speeches.
