July 23, 2014. Ensemble Stage continues its summer theatre series with a production of Desperate Affection by Bruce Graham. Performances will be held from July 26 to Aug. 3 at Blowing Rock School Auditorium.

Desperate Affection is a two-actor romantic comedy thriller that centers around the relationship between characters Maggie and Richard. As the play goes on, audiences see that things are not as they seem and that something sinister lies beyond the surface. Bruce Graham, who is known for writing complex, believable characters, creates tense, suspenseful moments in the play that are accentuated by the contrasting comedic atmosphere.

Performances will be held on July 26-29 and on Aug. 1-3 beginning at 7:30 p.m. with the exception of Sunday performances, which will be held at 2 p.m. Blowing Rock School Auditorium is located at 160 Sunset Drive in Blowing Rock.

Tickets are available to all showings and cost $21 for adults, $19 for students, senior citizens and military personnel and $11 for children under the age of 16. They may be purchased in advance at EnsembleStage.Tix.com or by calling the box office at 828-414-1844. The box office will also be open one hour before show times for walk-up purchases, which must be made with either cash or check — credit cards will not be accepted for walk-up purchases.
