Ensemble Stage Offers Reserved Seating, A Summer Mainstage Season and Theatre Camps for Children

June 4, 2013. Ensemble Stage is a nonprofit organization that provides the High Country with professional theatre at an affordable price. Located on Sunset Drive in Blowing Rock, the theatre is known for offering a culturally enriching experience that inspires, challenges and encourages people to be an active part of the community.

EnsembleStageThis summer, Ensemble Stage has big news regarding single tickets. Reserved seating for single ticket holders will now be available so a customer’s favorite seat cannot be taken. Adult single show tickets are $19 and seniors, students and military are $17.

The theatre company is also offering reserved seating for season tickets as well. Season tickets include four shows and are $68 for adults and $60 for senior, student and military tickets.

Summer Mainstage Season kicks off with “Searching for Eden” a romantic and feel-good comedy that opens June 15 and runs through June 23.

“Mindgame” follows as a psychological thriller that makes viewers question their own sanity. Run time is July 6 through July 14.

Ron Clark’s “A Bench in the Sun”, a play about two longtime friends, premieres late July 27 and will run through August 4.

“Bedside Manners” is Ensemble Stage’s last play of the summer, opening August 24 through September 1.

Ensemble Stage also offers two summer camps for children ages 7 to 15.

Mother Grimm is a camp for children ages 7 to 11 that combines characters from Mother Goose stories with Grimm’s fairy tales. In the two-week camp, children will act out various stories from the literary works, create their own play and perform it publicly. Camp dates are June 17 – 28, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Time Travel is explored in another camp titled Quantum Leap. Campers will explore basic and advanced techniques in creating a play, improv, make-up applications and many more fun and interesting activities. This camp leaves everything up to the child’s imagination. Camp dates are July 8 through 19, Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Enrollment for the Quantum Leap camp is limited to 14 campers and children who are 10 or 11 must be interviewed before enrollment is allowed.
