1) Wolf Creek Plays in Banner Elk July 10

This week’s concert in Banner Elk’s Tate Evans Park is Wolf Creek. Thursday, July 10, the show will begin at 6:30 p.m. and is free. Bring blankets, chairs and a picnic, or you may purchase food from a vendor. Wolf Creek is a five piece band from east Tennessee. Their music is an eclectic blend of Bluegrass with a good mixture of Classic County and Americana/Roots. Among the elements that make up our sound is the music of Flatt & Scruggs, The Country Gentlemen, Seldom Scene, Doc Watson, Jimmy Martin, The Stanley Brothers, Tony Rice, Carl Jackson and Ricky Skaggs. While strongly acoustic based, the music of Wolf Creek is augmented with the punch and power of drums and electric bass along with the twang of the Telecaster. This week’s band sponsor is Banner Elk Subway. Banner Elk Subway offers a healthy and delicious selection of sandwiches. Perfect for a day in the mountains!
