1) Third Thursday at Watauga County Library
Third Thursday, the Watauga County Public Library’s newest book and movie discussion group invites you to join us for a viewing of The Experiment on Dec. 19 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. This film is a fictional adaptation inspired by Dr. Phillip Zimbardo’s controversial 1971 Stanford Prison Experiment and is rated R. For more information or for special accommodations, please contact the library at 828-264-8784.
2) Cookie Swap
Please join the Watauga County Library for a cookie swap. There will be cookies and crafts for all ages, so dust off your baking skills and bring your imagination. Also, please bring a copy of your recipe along with your cookies so that others will be able to enjoy them again. The event will take place in the Watauga County Public Library meeting room on Monday, Dec. 16, from 1:30-5 p.m.
3) Lessons and Carols at St. Mary of the Hills
The choir of St. Mary of the Hills Episcopal Church will present a traditional Lessons and Carols service Sunday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. The service will be held at the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum off of Main Street this year during church renovations, and everyone is truly welcome.
