1) Boone KOA Wins Major Award During Annual Convention

The Boone KOA Campground has been awarded the 2014 KOA President’s Award by Kampgrounds of America, the world’s largest system of family-friendly campgrounds. The award was presented Thursday, Nov. 21, at KOA’s Annual International Convention in Austin, Texas. KOA is celebrating its 51st anniversary in 2013. The KOA President’s Award is presented annually to campgrounds tht receive high scores in customer service from their campers, and also receive top scores in KOA’s annual Quality Review. KOA surveys hundreds of thousands of campers each year regarding their KOA camping experience. “Everything we do at KOA is centered on providing the best possible camping experience to our millions of guests each year,” said KOA President Pat Hittmeier. “We have wonderful owners, managers and staff working on their parks everyday to provide that great experience, and listening closely to the desires of their campers. I’m so proud to be able to recognize that effort with out KOA President’s Awards.” Kampgrounds of America was founded in 1962 on the banks of the Yellowstone River in Billings, Montana. 2) Quilt Guild Meeting

The Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild will have its Christmas luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 11:30 a.m. We will meet at the Grace Lutheran Church at 115 King Street (catty-corner from the Daniel Boone Inn Restaurant). There will be kitchen facilities available for us. If you have a Christmas table runner or lap quilt, please bring them to decorate the meeting room. There will be a contest and prizes for these quilts. Don’t forget to bring our other quilts for show-and-tell. Call Gail at 264-1943 for more information.
