1) Boone Bike Winner Donated Bike to WYN

Boone Bike & Touring hosted the first 2015 Chamber After Hours event at 774 East King Street.  A large turn out gathered at the new location to mingle with other local business professionals and tour the bicycle shop, which was recently awarded the 2014 Small Business of the Year.  The Myo Clinic was on site offering free chair massages, Appalachian Mountain Brewery provided local crafted beer, and the Farm to Flame food truck delivered a variety of pizzas. Shop owners, Sarah and Shaw Brown, announced the winners of an assortment of door prizes donated by local businesses.  The highlight of the evening was awarding one lucky Chamber member a bicycle valued at over $550.  Brent Simmons, of Town and Home Studio, having recently purchased a mountain bike for himself, generously offered his prize to his wife.  The timing for Autumn Simmons couldn’t have been better, she donated her well loved older bicycle to the Watauga Youth Network this summer.  She will be returning to Boone Bike to be properly fitted, and determine which model Trek or Specialized mountain bike will be perfect for her needs.
