Exhibiting their art in the 2016 Lowell Thomas Artists-in-Residence at Edgewood Cottage series Thursday, July 28 through Tuesday, August 2, will be guest artists, Charlie Frye & Susan Sharpe.
Frye, from Lenoir, is a self-taught Appalachian Folk & American artist. His creations are bright & tell many a story; often painted on old wood, tin pan bottoms & vintage household articles, he paints mainly from memory mixed with a vivid imagination.
Sharpe is a multi-talented fiber artist exploring the many themes of nature in her fiber & fabric creations. Rich in texture, pattern & color, her talent is expressed in wall art, woven pieces, printed scarves & novelty pieces. Her works have garnered many awards & are exciting expressions….
Frye & Sharpe are part of the 2016 Lowell Thomas Artists in Residence at Edgewood Cottage series this season. Their show will be open July 28 – August 2, from 10:00AM – 6:00PM on weekdays & 12:00N – 6:00PMSunday. The cottage is closed on Wednesday to install the next week’s show…this series is sponsored by the Blowing Rock Historical Society & free to the public.
