Easter Events in the High Country Flourish, Egg Hunts All Around the Community

Have you been looking forward to Easter since this time last year, keeping the dates marked in your calendar so that you don’t miss any events around the community? With egg hunts, Easter baskets, crafts, bunnies and so much more, there are many events to look forward to in the surrounding areas for your Easter festivities.

Easter Egg Hunt in Banner Elk

Banner Elk, once again, is putting on its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, Apr. 8. The actual egg hunt takes place at 11 a.m. at the Historic Banner Elk School, but there are many more activities to participate in that you don’t want to miss.

Here is the schedule:

            9:30-10:30 a.m. – egg coloring at the Banner Elk Café

            10:30 a.m. – story time at the Banner Elk School Exchange

            10:30 a.m. – face-painting, meet the Bunny, games and music by Welter Entertainment

At 1 p.m., the Avery County Humane Society will be holding a Pet Egg Hunt at My Best Friend’s Barkery across the street from the historic school. From 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., both kids and pets can have their photos taken at the Barkery. All proceeds benefit the Avery Humane Society.

 

The Downtown Boone Easter EGGstravaganza

On Saturday, Apr. 8, from 2-4 p.m., the 16th Annual downtown Boone Easter EGG-stravaganza will be taking place downtown. There will be an egg hunt, crafts and so much more.

Here is the following schedule:

            2 p.m. – entertainment and crafts at the Watauga County Library

            2:30 p.m. – Easter “parade” at the Jones House

            2:45 p.m. – Easter egg hunts on the lawn of the Jones House

The egg hunts will be divided into three categories: 0-3 years, 4-6 years and 7 years and up.

 

Hoppy Easter Party

Beech Mountain brings you the Hoppy Easter Party at the Buckeye Recreation Center on Apr. 15 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. The event will have Easter themed games, activities and, most importantly, breakfast! Be sure to attend the Egg-straordinary Egg Hunt too!

Easter Egg Hunt & Festival in Blowing Rock

Come join the residents of Blowing Rock for its Easter festival full of games, an Easter egg hunt and, believe it or not, a visit from the Easter Bunny!

The event takes place at the Recreation Center in Blowing Rock from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 8, so mark your calendars!
