Lost Province Brewing Company will host a special Christmas Show with Drayton and the Dreamboats from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15. This will be a fun Christmas show with jazzy, poppy and sometimes silly arrangements of old Christmas tunes plus an original new Christmas tune appropriate for all ages.
Drayton and The Dreamboats are western North Carolina’s premier vocal jazz and vintage pop group. Featuring vocalist and violinist Drayton Aldridge, guitarist Luke Norton, bassist Craig Sandberg, and drummer Mike Oliver, the Asheville-based group plays an irresistible mix of cool jazz, hot swing, and original pop tunes.
Rooted in the vocal jazz tradition of Nat King Cole and Chet Baker, the group’s sincere delivery breathes new life into old standards and adds a timeless quality to their own original tunes. Drayton and The Dreamboats bridge the gap between old and new, playing vintage songs with enough pop sensibility and modern flair to draw in a new generation of listeners. Their unique style combines the charm and sophistication of jazz with the relaxed, conversational tone of classic country, the intimacy of folk music, and the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll.
