Don’t Miss the Eclectic Mix of Art at Avery County’s Fine Art and Master Crafts Festival this Weekend!

Avery County’s Fine Art and Master Crafts Festival returns this weekend, August 10-12, with a spectacular line up of artists and craftsmen. The festival has provided High Country’s artists with a venue to reach out to their community for over 25 years, as well as a gathering space for people to socialize and get to know each other.

The festival is held in Downtown Banner Elk, in the Historic Banner Elk School, and features many different types of handcrafted wares, including photography, paintings, jewelry, sculpture, blown and stained glass, woodwork, furniture, pottery, and much more.

This festival is juried, which means that only the best of the best are selected to display and market their creations. Around 90 final vendors are selected to attend, and with such a wide variety of prices and types of art, there’s sure to be something for everyone’s individual tastes and budgets.

The festival itself is also free—although I definitely recommend buying at least something from one of these amazing craftsmen. This is the last one of the summer, so be sure to go check out all of the cool stuff, made right here in our area!

The schedule for the festival is as follows:

Friday, August 10: 1 to 5 p.m.

Saturday, August 11: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday, Aug 12: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
