The Domino’s Pizza in Boone is moving one street over.

After more than two decades operating off of Faculty Street, Domino’s Pizza is moving beside the IHOP on Blowing Rock Road this summer. Local franchise owner Sam Akers said that the local Domino’s franchise will have a soft opening in the new facility on August 1.

“Our lease is up here, and there’s not enough parking,” Akers said, adding that the highway frontage will be a bonus, too. “We’ve been here 23 years, and there are still people out there that don’t know where we are located.”

Akers said that the new location will have 20 seats. This goes in line with the new “Domino’s Theatre” promotion and image, which consists of more seating and an open kitchen, that the company is rolling out.

“We’re excited to bring the new image to Domino’s in Boone and we want everyone to come out and watch the show,” Akers said.
