Deadline for North Carolina Private Nonprofits to Apply for SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans is June 25

May 27, 2014. The U.S. Small Business Administration reminds Private Non-Profit Organizations (PNPs) in North Carolina that June 25, 2014, is the deadline to submit Economic Injury Disaster Loan applications.  These loans are available from the SBA as a result of the severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides on July 3-13, 2013.

PNPs located in the following counties are eligible to apply: Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Jackson, Macon, Madison, Mitchell, Polk, Watauga, Yancey counties and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in North Carolina. Examples of eligible non-critical PNP organizations include, but are not limited to food kitchens, homeless shelters, museums, libraries, community centers and colleges.

The SBA offers Economic Injury Disaster Loans to help eligible non-critical PNP organizations meet their working capital needs such as ongoing operating expenses.  This assistance is available regardless of whether the organization suffered any physical property damage.  Loan amounts can be up to $2 million and interest rate of 2.875 percent with terms up to 30 years.  The SBA sets loan amounts and terms based on each applicant’s financial condition.

The filing deadline to return economic injury applications is June 25, 2014.
