Daily Tunes will be bringing you live music performances in the High Country area for every day of the week. Get out there and enjoy the cool breezes and relaxing music of summer before it’s over!
If you’re a bit of a daredevil, come enjoy live music every Saturday at Beech Mountain’s 5506’ Skybar, located 5,506 feet above sea level.
Seeing as the 5506’ Skybar is located at the top of a mountain, you will not be able to drive up and park directly at it. However, shuttles will be transporting people from the bottom of the mountain to the top for $1.
When you catch the shuttle, you’ll arrive at the little glass roundhouse above the world just in time for the performance at 2:30 p.m. You’ll take a seat on the Skybar’s lovely wooden deck, where the outdoor concerts take place, and enjoy good music and food provided by the bar, snack stand, and local vendors.
Performing this Saturday is Virginia Ground, an engaging band based out of Bristol, Virginia/Tennessee. This band is so unique that they had to create a new genre of music just for their style: “Appalachiaphonic Americana”, a well crafted mix of reggae, rock, blues, and country.
Next Saturday, Prettier than Matt, an acoustic rock n’ roll duo, will take the stage. In the event of inclement weather, the performances will be moved to the Beech Mountain Brewing Company.
The 5506’ Skybar’s Music series boasts incredible bands, always cool beverages, heated restrooms—absolutely necessary, I guarantee you—and a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains that you can only get at the top of the world.
The lineup for the 2018 Summer Music at 5506’ Skybar is as follows:
