The following information is provided courtesy of the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office and the Boone Police Department. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Watauga Sheriff’s Office Report

January 4

ARREST: Mitchell Darren Ward, 37, of 1750 Phillips Branch Road in Vilas was charged with OFA-FTA.

January 9

DRUG VIOLATIONS: Possession of marijuana with intent to sell or distribute and selling and delivering marijuana were reported from 1186 N.C. 105 in Boone. 

January 13

DRUG VIOLATIONS: Possession of marijuana with the intent to sell or distribute and maintaining a dwelling or place of controlled substances were reported from Smoke Rings at 1126 Blowing Rock Road in Boone. 

January 14

DRUG VIOLATIONS: Possession with the intent to sell or distribute marijuana, selling and delivering marijuana an maintaining a dwelling with controlled substances was reported from Smoke Rings at 1127 Blowing Rock Road in Boone. 

DRUG VIOLATIONS: Simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia were reported from Bamboo Road near Brook Hollow Road in Boone. 

January 15

ARREST: Ashley Nicole Stewart, 21, of 1168 South Shady Street in Mountain City, Tenn. was charged with felony fugitive from justice. She was held with a secured bond of $25,000 and is scheduled to appear Feb. 21.

January 16

ARREST: Frances Calhoun Yancey, 54, of 110 Seven Oaks Road in Boone was charged with possession with intent to sell or distribute schedule four controlled substances, possession with intent to sell or distribute schedule two controlled substances, maintaining a dwelling or place with controlled substances, trafficking opium or heroin, possession of firearm by a felon and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held on a secured bond of $75,000 and is scheduled to appear Feb. 21. 

ARREST: Michael Eric Ashton Perry, 51, of 110 Seven Oaks Road, was charged with harboring escapee, possession with intent to sell or distribute a schedule two controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held on a secured bond of $25,000 and is scheduled to appear on Feb. 21. 

ARREST: Charlene Dancy Brown, 43, of 130 Charlie Dancy Road in Zionville, was charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. She was held on a secured bond of $75,000 and is scheduled to appear on Feb. 17. 

ARREST: Steven Charles Brown, 47, of 130 Charlie Dancy Road in Zionville, was charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. He was held with a secured bond of $75,000 and is scheduled to appear Feb. 17. 

ARREST: David Lewis Davis, 50, of 1235 Clarence Newton Road in Blowing Rock, was charged with driving while license revoked. He was held on a secured bond of $500 and is scheduled to appear Feb. 21.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: Calls for service were reported from 109 Dennis Isaacs Road in Vilas. 

SIMPLE ASSAULT: Simple assault and communicating threats was reported from 220 Sunrise Ridge Road in Vilas. 

SIMPLE ASSAULT: Simple assault was reported from 232 Bluebird Lane in Boone. 

January 17

BREAKING AND ENTERING: Breaking and entering a residence was reported at 1565 Andy Hicks Road in Banner Elk. 

LARCENY: Larceny was reported from 1981 N.C. 88 in Zionville.

ASSAULT: Assault with a deadly weapon and criminal damage to property (vandalism) was reported from 4660 Meat Camp Road in Todd. 

CALLS FOR SERVICE: Calls for service was reported from 2976 Beaver Dam Road in Vilas.

January 18

FRAUD: Fraud was reported from 881 Grace Mountain Road in Todd. 

January 19

ARREST: Roger O’Neil Thomas, Jr., 19, of 1214 Plaza Street NW in Lenoir was charged with DWI. He was released on a written promise to appear and is scheduled to appear on Feb. 20. 

ARREST: Matthew Deavon Norris, 30, of 689 Burkett Road in Boone, was charged with DWI. He was released on a written promise to appear and is scheduled to appear on Feb. 20.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: Calls for service were reported from 169 Creek Estates Road in Todd. 

January 20

LARCENY: Larceny from buildings and criminal damage to property (vandalism) was reported from 431 Townsend Lane in Banner Elk.

Boone Police Department Report

January 13

WORTHLESS CHECK: Worthless checks on a closed account were reported from Piedmont Federal Savings Band located at 1399 Blowing Rock Road. 

BREAKING AND ENTERING: Breaking and entering and criminal damage to property were reported from 116 Poplar Hill Drive. 

ARREST: Linda Rene Nelson, 44, of 275 Meadow Hill Drive was charged with simple physical assault.. She was released on a written promise to appear and is scheduled to appear Feb. 21. 

January 14

MISSING PERSONS: Missing persons was reported from 300 Go Pioneers Drive in Boone. 

January 15

ARREST: Justin Kevin Anderson, 24, was charged with communicating threats and simple assault. He was held on an unsecured bond of $2,000  and is scheduled to appear Feb. 21.

ARREST: Daniel Joseph Ragone, 28, of 5820 North Moore Street in Spokane was charged with intoxicated and disruptive behavior. He was held on a secured bond of $750 and is scheduled to appear Feb. 20.

ARREST: Richard Paul LaMontagne, 27, at 190 Wood Circle Apt. 21 in Boone, was charged with possession of dangerous drugs and fugitive warrant. He was held on a secured bond of $50,000 and is scheduled to appear Feb. 21. 

POSSESSION: Possession of dangerous drugs and fugitive warrant was reported from 771 Blowing Rock Road. 

ARMED ROBBERY: Armed robbery was reported from 683 Howard Street #7 in Boone. 

LARCENY: Larceny was reported from Ingles Market located at 2575 N.C. 105.

January 16

LARCENY: Larceny of auto parts and accessories was reported from 200 Triumph Lane.

January 17

ARREST: Kingsley Devine Okike, 31, of 238 Daniel Boone Drive, was charged with failure to stop for a stop sign, exceeding posted speed limit, and DWI. He was released with a written promise to appear Feb. 20.

ARREST: Bryson Miguel Adams, 21, of 3612 Maldon Way in High Pointwas charged with intoxicated and disruptive. He was released with a written promise to appear Feb. 21.

ARREST: Justin Hal Hodgson, 32, of 130 Birch Street was charged with assault on a female and interfering with emergency communication. He is scheduled to appear Feb. 20.

ARREST: Joshua Dan Carlton, 19, of Hamby Alley, was charged with possession of marijuana up to 1/2 ounce, conspiracy to commit common law robbery and common law robbery. He was held on a secured bond of $40,000 and is scheduled to appear Feb. 21. 

POSSESSION: Possession of up to 1/2 ounce of marijuana, conspiracy to commit common law robbery and common law robbery was reported from Hamby Alley.

DRUG VIOLATIONS: 

CALLS FOR SERVICE: Calls for service were reported from 300 Go Pioneers Drive. 

FRAUD: Fraudulent use of a financial card was reported from 179 Westbrook Drive.

ASSAULT ON A FEMALE: Assault on a female and interfering with emergency communication were reported from 219 Meadow Hill Drive Apt. 603.

January 18

LARCENY: Larceny (shoplifting) was reported from Walmart located at 200 Watauga Village Drive in Boone

January 19

VANDALISM: Criminal damage to property (vandalism)  was reported from 209 Wood Circle .

LARCENY: Larceny and simple physical assault were reported from 209 Wood Circle. 

ASSAULT: Simple physical assault was reported from 338 Brook Hollow Road.

VANDALISM: Criminal damage to property (vandalism) was reported from Murphy’s Restaurant and Pub located at 747 West King Street.
