Nov. 29, 2012. The N.C. Department of Transportation is working in coordination with the town of Blowing Rock to relocate a water line along U.S. 321 as part of the ongoing road widening project. The relocation work is scheduled to begin on Monday, Dec. 3, at 9 a.m. Some residents and businesses will see either low or no water pressure for four to six hours.

The Mayview area of Blowing Rock will be affected, including:

  • U.S. 221 from Main Street to Laurel Lane
  • Jensen Drive
  • The Cones residential area
  • Green Street
  • Laurel Lane
  • Wonderland Trail.

The town of Blowing rock will attempt to contact affected residents by phone before this work is conducted. The town’s sewer lines and vehicular traffic will not be affected. If the water line relocation operation must be rescheduled, it will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 5, starting at 9 a.m.
