June 17, 2014. The Watauga County Board of Commissioners meet tonight on Tuesday, June 17. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. and will be held inside the lower level of the Watauga County Administration Building on King Street.
In addition to a public hearing at 6 p.m. regarding amendments to county ordinances and an agenda item about an archaeological survey for the property selected to house a medic base in Western Watauga, the commissioners will vote on the 2014-15 fiscal year budget. You can peruse the entire budget here.
Emergency Services Director Jeff Virginia will also request a contract with Fall Creek Volunteer Fire Department to ensure quicker response times and lower fire insurance ratings for the Kellersville area and Beech Creek community. Fall Creek VFD is in Avery County but is closer to the Beech Creek community than is the Beaver Dam Volunteer Fire Department of Watauga County.
