Carmen Deedy

Monday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m.

Carmen Deedy, story teller, Bringing Stories Alive, sponsored by Friends of the Library, Johnson County Community Foundation, and GSC Security & Electronics. Tickets only $5 per person. Reserve your seats today. Ode to a Feral Childhood: New York Times best-selling children’s author Carmen Agra Deedy will tell stories of growing up in a time before seat belts, bicycle helmets, and mandatory hand sanitizing.  A time when children went out at first light, spent hours playing out of doors, and didn’t return home until the street lights came on.  A time when it was understood that boredom was an essential part of childhood and wise parents made few attempts to remedy this state as imagination best thrives in a mind bored to distraction. Join us for what is certain to be an evening of stories and laughter–and bring a friend.  Stories appropriate for all ages. NOTE: Ms Deedy has performed at the famed National Storytelling in Historic Jonesborough, TN
