Celtic Band Fire in the Kitchen to Play Much Anticipated Concert Saturday, Sept. 7 at Heritage Hall, Mountain City

Sept. 5, 2013. Fire in the Kitchen, a well-loved Celtic band will present a highly anticipated concert at Heritage Hall in Mountain City on Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. 

The trio of Fire In The Kitchen specializes in presenting lively Appalachian and Celtic music to its audiences. Instrumentation of the ensemble includes a hammered dulcimer, Irish flute, Irish whistles, classical flute, Irish bodhran, guitar, bass, banjo and more.

Members of the group are natives of Washington County, VA and still proudly call this area home. They have been featured at the Lincoln Theatre’s Song of the Mountains, and they are featured on the Song of the Mountains CD.

Tickets for the show are $10 in advance and $12 at the door, with a special price of $5 for kids. This concert is sponsored by Johnson County Bank. 

Fire In The Kitchen has performed at venues such as: Dollywood-Festival of Nations, Bristol Rhythm ‘N Roots, The Virginia Highlands’ Festival, The Bristol Paramount Theatre, The Barter Theatre, The Carter Family Fold, Winston-Salem Celtic Festival and many, many  more. 

The group has been  featured on Public radio programming “Live in Studio 1A” as well as the PBS program “Song of the Mountains” that is being aired nation wide. The group was honored to have their first CD entitled “An Appalachian Celtic Journey” archived at the Smithsonian Institute in celebration of the Year of Appalachia.
