The First Annual K-9 Keg Pull will be held this Saturday, January 2 starting at 1pm at the High Country Tap Room in the Village of Sugar Mountain.
The event benefits PARTNERS! Canines, a nonprofit North Carolina based Dog Rescue organization that has saved more than 2500 adoptable dogs and puppies from euthanasia in 2015. The Keg Pull is sponsored by Mountain Dog and Friends in Foscoe, the High Country’s premier pet store.
All sized dogs are welcome to enter the race. Each dog will be matched with an appropriate sized beer keg or can to race through a course where High Country Tap Room proprietor Lynn Smith has arranged to make snow! Registration begins November 28th online and at the Taproom. You may also register starting at NOON on the day of the event at the Taproom. Cost is $10 per dog. Prizes will be awarded to winning dogs in a number of categories and each participating dog will get a gift bag from Mountain Dog, known for North America-made dog and cat foods and treats.
The event will also host a Silent Auction featuring all sorts of enticing items, including art, gift certificates to many local establishments, and pet-related products. This dog-friendly, kid-friendly event promises to be fun for the whole family, and one of the few places to find SNOW in the High Country this weekend. The High Country Tap Room is located just off of NC 184 on the main entrance road to Sugar Mountain.
